Samantha Batista is a graduate of Lesley University, where she earned her B.S. in Expressive Arts Therapy with a minor in music. She then went on to complete her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy at Lesley University. During her masters program, Samantha interned at the Home for Little Wanderers’ Longview Farm Campus, a residential school working with children struggling with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, as well as at the Charles River Center Day Program for adults with Developmental Disabilities. During her undergraduate program, Samantha interned with Orchard Cove Assisted Living Unit, and the Jimmy Fund Outpatient Clinic. Samantha has additional work experience with children on the Autism Spectrum and related diagnoses through Aspire Summer Program, where she assisted the campers in achieving therapeutic goals related to social skills and social thinking. 

Following graduation, Samantha was hired at Community Impact and has been with us for six years. Samantha has certifications in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Animal Assisted Therapy, while also currently undergoing a certificate program in Animal Assisted Psychotherapy. Samantha uses a variety of interventions in her work with her clients including art, music, writing, sand tray, play, etc.
